No stopping, Obala Ultra Trail

From always as humans we were drawn to exploring, to explore is to be a human. If we wouldn’t explore we would be probably still lost in the dark. For me one way to explore is to explore the capabilities of mind and body.

Running is a perfect example of a sport where you get out of it what you put into it and what is a better way to explore what you are capable of then to run an ultra marathon. Test where not days, not weeks or months, but years of training show you what you are capable of. For me signing up to Obala Ultra Trail, their longest distance of 100 kilometers and first time officially competing in a running distance longer than 15 kilometers, I knew that would be a true challenge. But years of training, going from short distance swimmer where I was competing for a minute to cycling where we raced for an hour or now where I would compete for more than half a day gave me motivation and determination that I am not stopping that day.

More than half a day of moving, running and walking, where body and mind were tested and arriving at the finish line amongst experienced ultra runners as the third Slovenian and tenth men overall it was an exploration of myself to which I am looking forward to again!
